Having been lasted more than two years, a product liability litigation case in which the plaintiffs previously claimed 20 million usd was settled this month. Jinyi represented the Chinese defendant in this case.

Due to an oil well failure, the plaintiffs made claims against several defendants including the drill operator, pipe suppliers, examiner and pipe manufacturer, one of which is Halliburton, one of the world''s largest providers of products and services in the energy industry.

Jinyi, together with Winstead PC Houston office, successfully produced compelling evidences denying the existence of quality problem and demonstrating the quality of the pipe was not the cause the accident. Plaintiffs chose to give up the extensive claim and settled with the Chinese manufacturer with a small amount of settlement payment before the hearing.

The success of the case not only helped the Chinese company avoid huge potential loss, but also safeguarded the reputation of their products in the American market.
